Born and schooled in Northern Ireland, the lure of the Antipodes saw Des arrive in Australia in ’67, via England, and for the next twenty-five years was based in Brisbane where he enjoyed working for a large multinational computer company.

Des has been happily married to Barb for twenty-eight years with three offspring and six grandchildren. Barb and Des are now retired and live on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. They are developing plans to tour India and South America.
