Croxton House Community Programs

In 2007, David Griffin wrote Everyday Heroes (published by Croxton House), after undertaking the HEROES radio program for a Community Radio Station. As a consequence of the radio programme, David G. became aware of the fact that there was a formula to success. It didn’t matter whether you were a high profile celebrity or a lesser known person in the community. It didn’t appear to be rocket science. Achieving a goal or becoming successful was more about loving what you do, focus, persistence, enthusiasm and an unyielding passion to succeed in your chosen field.

The Everyday Heroes book started to form from the idea of producing examples of success across different occupations, similar to the HEROES radio program in the belief that young adults could read each story and decide for themselves what they felt about the story.

What was the key learning in each story and which story actually made a difference to them? It wasn’t another person telling them what to do or think but the individual themselves making the decision.

The recipe to achieving your desired goal isn’t natural talent but a clear focus on a dream that you love and want to achieve, sacrificing to achieve that dream, an unrelenting willingness to do whatever is required and the steely resolve to persist even in the darkest moments.

David Griffin's personal experience in failing at both school and with an AFL career through to his experience with AFL clubs, hosting a radio program, publishing books and through a corporate business career at major national and International corporations allowed David to appreciate and understand what makes a successful person.

David’s goal is to educate through other's experiences, to tell the stories and allow people to read, hear, watch and learn through other people and real examples.

He brings the stories to life and particularly for teenage kids, allows them to absorb the diverse stories about different people from varying occupations and decide for themselves what they feel may work for them.

It is about individuals deciding for themselves as to what becomes their motivation and inspiration.

The Croxton House Community Program is an corner stone to the organisation, it is about putting back into the community, allowing others to achieve their dreams and goals.

Through school programs and the the innovative School Publishing Program, students share first hand experiences and perhaps start their own destiny.
